Transitions

Starting school is an exciting time of change for children and families. Brunswick North Primary School has highly successful programs for students transitioning into and out of our school. Helping children to transition and to feel confident and positive about their new school will give them a good start.

From kinder to Foundation

We invite prospective parents to visit the school and offer organised school tours. Information sessions and handbooks are available. We can also assist families for whom English is a second language.

Our Foundation Orientation Program is held in November. The program offers new students a taste of school life and introduces them to our Buddy Program with senior students. We also hold twilight events to welcome new parents to our school community.

From another primary school

Our comprehensive support program is extended to the special needs of students and families joining us from another primary school community.

From primary to secondary school

We work closely with students and their families to ensure they are well informed about the different organisational and learning environment of secondary school through classroom programs, participation in open days, visits to secondary schools, and provision of information resources. We work with parents to ensure the most appropriate placement of their child and celebrate the achievements by hosting a Year 6 Graduation and Big Day Out event.
